Our Mission

Sometimes the things holding us back are deep inside. Many young people find it hard to envision a positive future due to the cycles of poverty, trauma, and abuse they have witnessed within their communities. It takes real courage to develop a new mindset, but the rewards are life-changing.

That’s why we are focused on supporting the next generation of leaders to become emotionally healthy people through leadership training, life-skills coaching, and mentorship.

  • I was able to find support with the Leon Foundation of Excellence team. My two mentors were incredibly supportive of me, especially during my time of college applications. As I became more stressed out over college, they were always willing to do mock interviews with me and help me with essay questions. This made approaching college applications much less stressful.

    Jasleen

  • I loved the community that was built, because a community of people is something so fundamental for me. I also felt that I grew socio-emotionally and by listening to the stories of others. This is an AWESOME ORGANIZATION. I am so grateful for this experience.

    Anna SofÍa

  • The Leon Foundation of Excellence provided me a space to safely talk about world issues and bond with a team of other interns, which wasn't something I was frequently experiencing at school. As a result, the Leon Foundation of Excellence provided me a place to be me, and it was the extracurricular activity I enjoyed going to the most.
